We want you to feel confident when ordering your dress from A Dressy Occasion, and we know ordering sight unseen can be a bit stressful. That’s why we’ve created our exchange/return policy. We want to give you the peace of mind you need to find a dress you truly love and order it worry free. With only a few exceptions, our dresses are exchangeable/returnable when you follow our instructions detailed below.
Things to know before you order:
Please have measurements taken by a professional or seamstress. Bust, waist and hip measurements are essential for us to help you get the best fit, with the least amount of alterations. Bra sizes are not consistent with a bust measurement. Gowns can be made from different size charts making it impossible to guess or assume your size. It’s crucial to have these measurements because all dress size charts run differently. We are happy to help with this decision so feel free to call or email us with any questions. If measurements are not provided when you place your order, the exchange is not valid.
Depending on your body type, you might need an alteration or two for a perfect fit. Please keep this in mind when reviewing your gown order. Our gowns are easy to alter if needed. Most bridal gowns have up to 2" of seam allowance in the side seams. We have our own local seamstresses who can help you if you buy your dress from one of our stores. Also, depending on the gown, if you need extra fabric or lace, we can usually order it with your gown.
Casual, In Stock Temple or Ready-Made Bridesmaid Dresses Order Exchanges:
Our casual, in stock temple dresses and ready to wear bridesmaid dresses are any of our dresses that are in stock and ready for immediate delivery. Since these dresses are usually in stock, exchanges are generally quick and easy. If you need a different size, color or style, you will need to call us with three business days of receiving the dress. Please note that our ready to wear bridesmaid dresses can only be exchanged once, so be certain of the changes you would like to make. We offer exchange only or store credit on any of these type of dresses.
Special Order Bridesmaids Dresses:
Special Order bridesmaid dresses are dresses that can be ordered in any various colors and sizes and have an approximately 10-12 weeks delivery time (less with a rush order). Please make sure to take accurate measurements and place your order based on your measurements. These dresses are considered special order item(s). Also, any dress ordered with any custom changes is considered a custom order. Both special and custom orders are both All Sales Are Final and cannot be returned.
Special Order Wedding Gown, Prom, Bridesmaid and Temple Dresses:
Any special or custom dress order, a dress that is not in stock or one which has had custom changes made to the original design when the order was place are All Sales Final.
In Stock Wedding Gown, Prom, Bridesmaid and Temple Dress Orders:
If the item(s) you purchased are in stock you can exchange the item(s) for another item that is in stock or place an order for a special order item(s). Cost of the new item(s) must be the same value or more than the original item(s). We will accept your return/exchange if you follow these steps:
Our exchange policy is only open for 3 business days after you receive your dress. You have 72 hours from the time you received the item to ship the item(s) back to us. The item(s) must be not be worn, altered or damaged and still have the tags attached. Please call us to receive an RA# and let us know what items you would like to exchange for the item/s you received.
Call 855 437-3773 toll-free or 949 713-7230 within 3 business days of receiving your order to receive a return/exchange authorization number.
Write the authorization number on the packing slip that was included with your shipment. Ship the item(s) prepaid, insured and/or tracked to the return address on your invoice. We will not be able to process any exchanges that are postmarked after this 3 business day period.
Returns will have a 15% restocking fee and returns are only excepted with our permission and must need an RS#. If measurements are not provided when you place your order, the return policy is not valid. Shipping charges are not refunded.
Any item(s) that are on sale or marked down are considered All Sales Final. No returns or exchanges.
There are no returns or exchanges on dresses sold in our stores. Only in stock items from our website or orders placed over the phone will be accepted for an exchange based on the exceptions listed above. Once a gown has been ordered, the order cannot be cancelled. If the dress or items have been tried on in the store, we cannot accept cancellations or returns
No returns on orders of two or more formal wear dresses: We cannot accept returns for bridal parties who have ordered two or more formal wear dresses. If you need a different size, please contact us immediately, so we can do our best to accommodate your needs. Additional costs may apply.
Shipping costs vary for wedding gowns, formal wear, and accessories ordered separately.
- For multiple gown orders shipped to the same address, shipping costs will be estimated on an individual basis.
- For orders outside of the US, there will be additional shipping charges (call for a quote).
- For orders to Canada and International, there will be additional shipping charges (call for a quote).
When will my order be shipped?
In-stock orders are usually shipped within 48 hours after receiving your order. All other special orders will ship as soon as we receive them. Shipping times to any state in the US is approximately 3-5 days. If you wish to ship your order next day, 2 day or 3 day you can upgrade your shipping time when placing our order or call us at 855 437-3773 if you are in the US. All orders are shipped via USPS, UPS or Fed Ex.
Orders shipped outside the US or any international order can take approximately 10-14 days regular shipping time. International shipping times can also be upgraded when placing your order or contact us at 949 713-7230 to upgrade your shipping. All orders are shipped via USPS, DHL or UPS.
